PLN: Personal learning network   

               A personal learning network is an informal learning network that consists of the people a learner interacts with and derives knowledge from in a personal learning environment. In a PLN, a person makes a connection with another person with the specific intent that some type of learning will occur because of that connection.

              An important part of this concept is the theory of connectivism developed by George Siemens and Stephen Downes. Learners create connections and develop a network that contributes to their professional development and knowledge. The learner does not have to know these people personally or ever meet them in person.

The following is an excerpt from Dryden's and Vos' book on learning networks:

"For the first time in history, we know now how to store virtually all humanity's most important information and make it available, almost instantly, in almost any form, to almost anyone on earth. We also know how to do that in great new ways so that people can interact with it , and learn from it."

           Personal learning networks share a close association with the concept of personal learning environments. Martindale & Dowdy  describe a PLE as a "manifestation of a learner’s informal learning processes via the Web".

What is a PLN?

        The word “PLN” stands for “Personal Learning Network”, and it has its origins in connectivism theory (Siemens, G. & Downes, S., 2005).

The Personal:
                  Having a PLN is about making connections and building personal relationships with teachers, school administrators, university professors, and experts around the world. No matter where you are in the world, there’s always someone online available to answer questions, share their expertise, and simply chat about what’s happening in their lives and classrooms.

The Learning:
                    Having a PLN is about sharing ideas and resources, collaboration, and learning. We may share our learning, ideas and expertise in different ways; using different media and tools, but the essence is the same: the PLN is simply the best professional development you will ever participate in – and it’s available 24/7.

The Network:
                    The defining feature of the PLN is that it is a global learning network, enabling people to tap into and share diverse, global perspectives on teaching strategies, educational issues, and technologies. If takes time and effort to build these connections, but it’s well worth the effort.

                   Therefore PLN is an individual learning method, It's more useful and economical for the currently learner. Everyone in globalization should to have and learn more about PLN. I just begins my PLN as the following mind map.

 

My PLN is start in the first step with 1) Teacher Based, I learn in a formal curriculum that the government provide.   2)  My self learning Based(My life style), I just learn to reap in find my inspiration from the public library or by read any more that I want.    3. IT Based learning, I use IT system to fulfill my knowledge because it is the convenient channel to complete my lesson. and 4) I learn with Social Based, the last way that importance to learn that is the right way of our social. I learn any more from the social way and community life style to improve my life to be my self-regulation. that is my personal learning network.

ประวัติความเป็นมา

 

               โรงเรียนอนุบาลศรทิพย์ อำเภอบ้านกรวด จังหวัดบุรีรัมย์ ก่อตั้งเมื่อวันที่ 1 พฤษภาคม 2546 เป็นโรงเรียนเอกชน ประเภทสามัญ ที่เกิดขึ้นจากผลึกความคิดและประสบการณ์ของผู้บริหารคลินิกศรทิพย์การพยาบาลและการผดุงครรภ์ ด้วยแนวความคิดการบูรณาการการจัดประสบการณ์การชีวิตแก่ผู้เรียน ตามทฤษฏีการเรียนรู้ และทฤษฏีพฤติกรรมสุขภาพโดยมีเป้าประสงค์ให้นักเรียนได้รับประสบการณ์ที่จำเป็นต่อการพัฒนาทักษะชีวิต ไปพร้อมกับพฤติกรรมสุขภาพที่ถูกต้อง และดำรงชีวิตอยู่ในสังคมอย่างมั่นใจและมีความสุข ตามวิสัยทัศน์ร่วมของโรงเรียน "ภายในปีพุทธศักราช 2559 โรงเรียนอนุบาลศรทิพย์ เป็นโรงเรียนเอกชนช้ันนำ ผู้เรียนเป็นคนดี มีภูมิรู้ มีความสุข มั่นใจในการดำเนินชีวิต และมีจิตสาธารณะ"

                โรงเรียนได้มีการนำระบบเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศมาใช้คร้ังแรกเมื่อ ปี พ.ศ.2547 โดยมีเครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์แบบ PC จำนวน 10 เครื่อง พร้อมระบบเครือข่าย Internet และระบบ LAN ต่อมาในปี พ.ศ. 2552 โรงเรียนได้ปรับปรุงห้องเรียนเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ เพิ่มเครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์แบบ PC เป็น 30 เครื่อง พร้อมปรับปรุงระบบเครือข่าย Internet เป็นแบบไร้สาย ในปี พ.ศ.2555 ตามนโยบายหนึ่งนักเรียนหนึ่งคอมพิเตอร์พกพา(OTPC: One Tablet Per Child) ของรัฐบาลไทย โรงเรียนได้รับจัดสรรเครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์พกพา(Tablet) สำหรับนักเรียนช้ันประถมศึกษาปีที่ 1 จำนวน 60 เครื่อง โรงเรียนจึงได้เพิ่มจุดจ่ายสัญญาณอินเตอร์เน็ตแบบไร้สายเพิ่มเติมเป็น 2 จุด แต่พบว่าครูโดยส่วนใหญ่ยังไม่สามารถนำ   เทคโนโลยีดังกล่าวมาใช้อย่างเหมาะสมและคุ้มค่า

                  การจัดการเรียนรู้ในยุคของการสื่อสารแบบไร้สาย ครูและนักเรียนส่วนใหญ่มีอุปกรณ์สื่อสารที่สามารถเข้าถึงข้อมูลความรู้อย่างรวดเร็ว การวางแผนและจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้เทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศเป็นฐานในสถานศึกษาข้ันพื้นฐาน เพื่อเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการเรียนรู้จึงเป็นการวางพื้นฐานการเรียนรู้ที่มีความสำคัญ และสอดคล้องกับสภาพบริบททางสังคมการสื่อสารที่กำลังเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างรวดเร็ว

วัตถุประสงค์

 

               1. เพื่อส่งเสริมให้ครูมีความรู้ความสามารถในการใช้ และนำเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศมาใช้ในการเรียนการสอนมากขึ้น

               2. เพื่อส่งเสริมให้นักเรียนได้เรียนรู้พื้นฐานการใช้งาน และเรียนรู้จากสื่อ ในระบบเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศอย่างถูกต้องและเหมาะสม

                3. เพื่อเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการเรียนรู้ของผู้เรียนให้สูงขึ้น

 

วิธีการดำเนินงาน

                1. นำเสนอแผนงาน/โครงการเพื่อขออนุมัติดำเนินการ

                2. จัดประชุมวิชาการ เรื่อง การใช้สื่อเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศเพื่อเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการเรียนรู้ โดยครูปฐมวัย ประถม และมัธยม ต้องเข้าประชุมทุกคน

                3. กำหนดมาตรฐานการจัดการเรียนการสอนดังนี้

                          3.1 ครูใช้สื่อที่ได้จากการสืบค้นจากระบบเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ ในทุกแผนการจัดการเรียนรู้ อย่างน้อย 1 เรื่องต่อหน่วยการเรียนรู้

                           3.2 ครูใช้ระบบเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศในการจัดการเรียนการสอน ไม่น้อยกว่าร้อยละ 80 ของกระบวนการจัดการเรียนการสอน 

                           3.3 ครูใช้ระบบเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศในการสื่อสารด้านการจัดการเรียนรู้กับนักเรียน ไม่น้อยกว่า 1 คร้ังต่อหน่วยการเรียนรู้

                4.   การวางแผนการนิเทศและติดตามประเมินผลการดำเนินงานตามมาตรฐานที่กำหนด

               5. ติดตามวัดและประเมินผลสัมฤทธิ์ด้านการเรียนรู้ของนักเรียน เปรียบเทียบผลสัมฤทธิ์ก่อนการดำเนินงานตามโครงการ

                 6. ปรับปรุงอุปกรณ์โสตทัศนูปกรณ์ เพื่อเพิ่มศักยภาพของระบบ ติดตามปัญหาอุปสรรค และแก้ไขปรับปรุงระบบฯ ในระหว่างดำเนินการ

 

สรุป

       จากการดำเนินงานตามแผนงานโครงการในระยะที่ 1 (กค.-สค.2557)  พบว่า 1) ในส่วนครู พบว่าทุกคนได้เข้าร่วมประชุมวิชาการเพื่อเพิ่มศักยภาพการใช้ระบบเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ  ครูส่วนใหญ่ประมาณร้อยละ 80 ใช้สื่อที่ได้จากการสืบค้นด้วยระบบเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ ครูร้อยละ 75  สามารถนำระบบเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศเข้าสู่กระบวนการจัดการเรียนรุู้ ครูร้อยละ 60 ที่สามารถใช้การสื่อสารด้านการจัดการเรียนรู้กับนักเรียนได้  2)ในส่วนของนักเรียน พบว่านักเรียนส่วนใหญ่มีความสนุกและพึงพอใจกับกระบวนการเรียนรู้โดยใช้การเรียนรู้ผ่านระบบเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ  และได้ใช้งานในระบบเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศที่เก่ียวข้องกับการเรียนของตนเองมากขึ้น แต่นักเรียนมีระดับผลการเรียนรู้สูงขึ้นจากเดิมเพียงเล็กน้อย  3) ด้านการปรับปรุงระบบโรงเรียนได้จัดให้มีเครื่องฉายโปรเจอร์เตอร์ในทุกห้องเรียนของระดับประถม และมัธยม มีระบบห้องรวมสำหรับช้ันปฐมวัย  4) ด้านปัญหาอุปสรรค พบว่าครูยังใช้ระบบไม่เต็มตามศักยภาพนัก  และยังมีเครื่องมือสื่อสารที่ยังไม่เอื้อต่อการจัดการเรียนรู้อย่างสมบูรณ์แบบ

        แต่อย่างไรก็ตาม ในการประเมินผลช่วงแรกจะพบว่าครูและนักเรียนมีเจตคติที่ดีต่อการเรียนรู้ด้วยกระบวนการที่ใช้ระบบเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ จึงคาดว่าในการประเมินผลครั้งต่อไปจะพบนักเรียนมีผลการเรียนรู้ที่สูงขึ้นกว่าที่ผ่านมา

          The OpenContent website once defined OpenContent as 'freely available for modification, use and redistribution under a license similar to those used by the Open Source / Free Software community'. However, such a definition would exclude the Open Content License (OPL) because that license forbade charging 'a fee for the [OpenContent] itself', a right required by free and open source software licenses.
           The term since shifted in meaning. OpenContent "is licensed in a manner that provides users with free and perpetual permission to engage in the 5R activities."
The 5Rs are put forward on the OpenContent website as a framework for assessing the extent to which content is open:

1. Retain - the right to make, own, and control copies of the content (e.g., download, duplicate, store, and manage)
2. Reuse - the right to use the content in a wide range of ways (e.g., in a class, in a study group, on a website, in a video)
3. Revise - the right to adapt, adjust, modify, or alter the content itself (e.g., translate the content into another language)
4. Remix - the right to combine the original or revised content with other open content to create something new (e.g., incorporate the content into a mashup)
5. Redistribute - the right to share copies of the original content, your revisions, or your remixes with others (e.g., give a copy of the content to a friend)

          This broader definition distinguishes open content from open source software, since the latter must be available for commercial use by the public. However, it is similar to several definitions for open educational resources, which include resources under noncommercial and verbatim licenses.
The Open Definition, which purports to define open content and open knowledge, draws heavily on the Open Source Definition; it preserves the limited sense of open content as libre content

      A massive open online course (MOOC; /muːk/) is an online course aimed at unlimited participation and open access via the web. In addition to traditional course materials such as videos, readings, and problem sets, MOOCs provide interactive user forums that help build a community for students, professors, and teaching assistants (TAs). MOOCs are a recent development in distance education which began to emerge in 2012.

          Early MOOCs often emphasized open access features, such as connectivism and open licensing of content, structure and learning goals, to promote the reuse and remixing of resources. Some later MOOCs use closed licenses for their course materials while maintaining free access for students.

         MOOCs are free non-degree online courses with open unlimited global enrollment to anyone who desires to learn, and regardless of their current educational level.

What's amazing tablet computer?

         A tablet computer, or simply tablet, is a mobile computer with display, circuitry and battery in a single unit. Tablets are equipped with sensors, including cameras, microphone, accelerometer and touchscreen, with finger or stylus gestures replacing computer mouse and keyboard. Tablets may include physical buttons, e.g., to control basic features such as speaker volume and power and ports for network communications and to charge the battery. An on-screen, pop-up virtual keyboard is usually used for typing. Tablets are typically larger than smart phones or personal digital assistants at 7 inches (18 cm) or larger, measured diagonally.

          Tablets can be separated into several categories, according to the presence and physical appearance of a keyboard. Slates and Booklets does not have a physical keyboard and a text input typically is performed through the use of a virtual keyboard, projected on a touchscreen-enabled display. Hybrids and Convertibles do have physical keyboards, although the virtual keyboard feature is typically also available with these devices.

             Conceptualized in the mid-20th century and prototyped and developed in the last two decades of that century, the devices became popular in 2010. As of March 2012, 31% of U.S. Internet users were reported to have a tablet, which was used mainly for viewing published content such as video and news. Among tablets available in 2012, the top-selling line of devices was Apple's iPad with 100 million sold by mid-October 2012 since its release in April 2010, followed by Amazon's Kindle Fire with 7 million, and Barnes & Noble's Nook with 5 million. As of May 2013, over 70% of mobile developers were targeting tablets (vs. 93% for smartphones and 18% for feature phones).

              Content that was once primarily accessed by consumers on their PCs, is shifting to mobile devices. In fact, 37 percent of consumers who used to access content on their PCs switched to their tablets and smartphones in 2012

Definition of:tablet computer
       A general-purpose computer contained in a single panel. Its distinguishing characteristic is the use of a touch screen as the input device. Modern tablets are operated by fingers, and a stylus is an option, whereas earlier tablets required a stylus. In 2000, Microsoft introduced its first Windows tablet (see Tablet PC).

iPad, Android and BlackBerry
       In 2010, Apple's iPad created a tablet revolution as dramatic as it did with the iPhone. However, Android tablets have given the iPad a run for its money with numerous models from several vendors. BlackBerry introduced the PlayBook to entice its loyal customers. Windows Tablets
        Starting before the turn of the century, Windows tablets have had an erratic history; however, Windows 8 changed the game in 2012. Regular Size and Mini

How Tablets Work

         When Steve Jobs ended years of speculation in 2010 by announcing the iPad tablet device, he helped launch a new era in computer hardware. Though tablet PCs have been around for years, the iPad was the first device to use the form factor successfully in the consumer market. And Apple's success benefitted other companies as well as tech enthusiasts looked for alternatives to Apple's approach.

         So what exactly is a tablet? At its most basic level, a tablet PC is a mobile computing device that's larger than a smartphone or personal digital assistant. There's not a strict cutoff size for tablet devices -- the iPad line sports a screen size of just under 10 inches but other tablets can be larger or smaller. In general, if the computing device uses an on-screen interface and doesn't include a phone, it's a tablet.

To confuse matters, some manufacturers produce hybrid devices that are part tablet, part laptop computer. The device might come with an attached keyboard -- the screen swivels or folds down to cover the keyboard and voila, you have a tablet!

          In 2010, Lenovo introduced a prototype device called the IdeaPad U1 at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nev. At first glance, it looked like a normal laptop computer. But if you detached the screen from the base, the laptop converted to a tablet computer with its own, independent operating system. Lenovo rebranded the device, naming it the Lenovo LePad and launching it in China in 2011.

Although tablets come in a variety of shapes, sizes and feature sets, they share many similar characteristics. Nearly all have a touch-screen interface and an operating system capable of running small programs. They don't necessarily replace the need for a more robust computer, but they create a new space for computing devices.

              It's very amazing in tablet computers competence and performance. I think that this excellence instrument may be make the changing way of instruction and learning of the world.
